I am an old pro with gravy and sauces. This Thanksgiving I made both my usual well-received gravy and this one. AB's giblet gravy won the taste test in my opinion. However, I made the grave mistake of telling people what it was and NO ONE tasted it but me. They wouldn't touch a drop of this delicious stuff. Next year I will not add the chopped up giblets, and I will not tell them what it is. I love my friends, but really, what a bunch of culinary wooses!

Fantastic way to make a ton of flavorful gravy for your turkey dinner! If you don't have the backbone, don't worry....I used the giblets and a random piece of turkey that was near the tail. I didn't use the giblet meat in the gravy because I am sure a few people would refuse to eat it. However, I did use meat from the neck and a few drippings from the pan. Wonderful. Will use anytime I need gravy!!

This was amazing! I took the giblets out at the last minute and added 1/2 tsp kitchen gourmet. It was perfect! I also skipped the potato starch and used corn starch .

I didn't have potato starch on hand and wasn't about to buy it for just a tablespoons worth so I used cornstarch. I'm sure doing so caused it to not thicken up like it should. It was thicker than stock, but not close to gravy. It was incredibly flavorful and easy though. The next day, it thickened up just perfectly when I reheated it. Next time, I'll probably just double the cornstarch, I still don't plan on buying potato starch for 1 thing...it's unrealistic.

Great recipe...made it exactly as per the recipe. We use giblets in our stuffing so putting them in the gravy was a plus. It thickened beautifully and the herbs were perfect. Kept perfectly hot in a warmed thermos gravy boat and we all loved it. My new annual turkey gravy recipe. Thanks!!

This was the first gravy I ever made without using the turkey pan drippings (I made Alton's butterflied turkey this year and so didn't have any and it was fantastic!!! I will use this every year because I can do it the day before cutting down on things I have to do on the main day. It also allowed me to remove all the fat easily after being refrigerated. I didn't add the chopped gibblets because my hubby doesn't go for that kind of stuff. It is my new go to gravy recipe for everything....You Rock Alton!!! Love the herb touch at the end also....

probably the best gravy ive ever made. I didn't add the chopped giblets at the end though cuz I knew my wife wouldn't eat it then (I would have loved it but still amazing. I also used my homemade chicken stock instead of the water and that just put it over the top. Another great Alton Brown recipe!
