I made this ice cream as a base (which was the best vanilla I've ever had for some cake batter ice cream. The flavor was so addictive that I was eating it before I even churned it. Once I had, the texture was unbelievable. It was smooth and creamy and easy to scoop without being too soft. This ice cream was better than my favorite creamery! YUM.

I cut back on the sugar a bit as it seemed odd that the chocolate version with the bitter cocoa would have the same amount of sugar.I didn't use vanilla sugar, just added a bit more vanilla. This ice cream was better than any "premium" ice cream I have ever bought. Not cheap too make, time consuming, but oh so worth it!!!

Wow this is super fun to make and delicious. I've tried all 3 favors and made additional favors of my own. Try adding peanuts or even crushed oreo cookies. I've also added nilla wafers and bananas. Hats off to the Professor. Thank you sir, keep the great recipes coming.

This is a great recipe. For those who can't wait to get it in the fridge, try one of Emeril's tricks and CAREFULLY place a sheet of clear wrap directly on top of the mixture to avoid condensation. Splenda also works great for those watching the sugar. Cheers!

I made this ice cream and was blown away. I also made a variant or my wife, by adding cut up, frozen strawberries. She now refuses to eat store-bought strawberry ice cream!

This icecream is delicious! I had a little trouble with lumps forming in the custard (I think I had it on the heat for a minute too long but the lumps weren't detectable in the finsihed product, so it was fine. A lot of effort, but a delicious finished product!

Very good but a little time consuming and fairly costly.

Just as rich as any of the Premium ice creams you can buy anywhere. I use the ice cream attachment for my kitchen aid mixer for a perfect icecream.
