LOVE this recipe. It's become my standard entertaining salad as you can make it the night before and really let the asparagus soak in the red wine. I didn't use the full amount of vinegar -- 50-75% of the amount in the recipe will suffice.

Winner! Guests loved it and it was soooo easy.
Mistake i made was using finely grated cheese. it was rather pastey so i will freshly grate using the more coarse grater next time.

EDIT- i made this again but could only find, local, fresh asparagus that was fairly thick. It came out great BUT you must cut off the tips as the taste and texture is a turn-off. I was reluctant to try the fatter ones but it was great! also, i added some diced pancetta. Mmmm

Sorry Chef Ann, but this salad was too sharp tasting for me. I love the asparagus idea, but the combination of the cheese and the vinegar was too much together.

My husband liked it pretty well. I thought the cheese tasted strange. It was fun to try something new, but probably won't do again.

LOVE this salad. Quick and easy. Couldn't wait the recommended hour to marry the favors and it was still great. Probably add bacon next time if I want to be bad. Anne's recipes are the best! How can you not love her.

Super salad! just like Ann said: no one had had it before and they didn't know what was in it but loved it. The only change I made was I used only half of the vinegar and I only had balsamic at home, and it worked out great.

Delicious! What an inventive use for pencil asparagus. I added some crispy bacon crumbles and reduced the vinegar to 1/4 cup,
