probably one of the best chicken pot pie recipes ever. I make this probably 3 times a year. When I'm lazy I do use frozen puff pastry but the cream cheese pie crust is awesome. I use mixture of white and dark meat. Make 6 mini pies in tins and freeze. Pop in the oven frozen and they come out excellent. What I like is I can use any veggies that are sitting in the fridge or leftover and it's all good. I have used parsnips, potatoes, corn, asparagus etc. Can't go wrong.

Awesome! Not sure I really want to know, but what is the damage? Serving size and calories? Also does anyone know how to reduce the caloric value while maintaining the taste?

My family loved it!! I used puff pastry instead of making the crust on the recipe. It turned out great.

Triple yum on this one. OMG! We loved it. I must admit however that I might possibly be a candidate for "Worst Cooks in America". My crust did not turn out so we had to use a store bought crust and I did not thicken the "gravy" appropriately. That said the end result was still absolutely delicious. I served it in individual 16 oz crocks with a side salad of greens with tomato and a crisp Chardonnay. My husband and I were in heaven. The next day we had some of the left over filling over basmati rice and it was great. Love this recipe. Thanks so much!

Amazing recipe. My wife traditionally does not like pot pies, but I got her to try this one and I've made her a believer. I followed the instructions to the letter and it turned out spectacular. I agree that it is a bit time consuming, but well worth the time. I, however, did not use the 2qt casserole (as I didn't have one and I'm not sure that all that filling would have fit in the first place. Also, consider only using a portion of the dough as it does make a lot! I would also say that my family eats quite a bit, but this definitely feeds more than 4 (probably closer to 8 normal adults.

This dish was awesome! I thought that it was very easy to make, just a little time consuming. But, it was differently worth it! I changed it up a little and put my own spin on it. I switched the squash for roasted potatoes and instead of green beans I used Mushrooms. I would make this over and over again. The flavors are amazing! I hope people looking for a great Chicken Pot Pie Use this receipe. Awesome job Anne!!!

You'll be so happy you made this. Seriously. We had bought a butternut squash the other day without a plan on what to do with it. We found this recipe only after we searched this site for the squash. It sounded good and we've cooked from Ms. Burrell's recipes in the past. We never saw the show that featured this dish so we just prepared this from the printed recipe. The only substitution was the chicken we used. We had some boneless thighs that we had bought in bulk freezer packs and we used them. The recipe was easy to follow. We roasted the squash in a 375 oven. The deepness of the chicken flavor is amazing and the green beens stay sweet and crisp. We're looking forward to leftovers! Follow this recipe and write your own 5 star review.

OMG!!!! This is an incredible recipe. I used leftover turkey meat from Thanksgiving instead of chicken and it was fabulous. The butternut squash was a wonderful surprise, I thought I would miss having potatoes in the pie but the squash offered a light and slightly sweet flavor. I will make this dish a lot this winter and many winters to come. Thanks Anne, I love your show and so many of your recipes. Keep em coming girlfriend!

Totally delicious. My family really loved this - especially my husband. I hadn't been able to get him to eat squash, but he really loved the slight sweetness that it added, so I belive I've found a convert. This will become one of my winter go-to dishes. Excellent!

Incredible and surprisingly easy even though it seems like a lot of steps! I've made it 3 or 4 times already, varying what veggies I include - YUMMM!
