Tried this recipe twice and I was disappointed both times, my mouth was watering when I watched Anne making this. It looked devine and I had to try it! The first time the Italian sausage was way too overpowering, so tried it with breakfast sausage the second time around. Again the sausage taste was all you really tasted. I had such high hopes for this, it has all my favorite ingredients, eggs, sausage and mushrooms, I would eat an old sneaker if you topped it with mushrooms! I really wanted to love this but I don't think I will be making this again.

Fantastic recipe! Served it today for a brunch along with the ricotta pancakes from the same episode (also very good. Will definitely make this egg dish again and experiment with various sausages, etc. Thanks Anne, awesome as always!

Excellent. Everyone at my brunch thought so too. Experiment with different types of sausage too.

Loved loved loved this! I followed the recipe exactly and I
my eggs were perfectly done. I will be making this again. I also made the pancakes, and I didn't really love them. Next time I will skip those.

We didn't like the overbrowned garlic bits and the runny eggs. Great with a more tender garlic and fried eggs--not completely fried so they finish in the oven. LUV ANNE

This was delicious. Even my kids ate it! I overcooked the eggs a bit because when it was time to put the cheese on, the eggs were no where near being done and it scared me. The second time I made it, I followed directions exactly and it was perfect. I used whatever cheese I had on hand.

SOOOOO delicious. I made this about a week ago and served them with rosemary homefries and fresh fruit.. I wanted to make something special and different for my boyfriend on a Sunday morning. The wine soaked mushrooms and sausage were fantastic. Tip for other home cook: the eggs will be completely underdone when you place the cheese on top but will firm up quickly. I unfortunately cooked them a bit longer than instructed in the recipe and the egg yolks were a bit firm. Next time I will follow directions and they will be runny and perfect as described in the recipe. Still yummy! Thanks Anne!

I thought this was an outstanding dish. It is so simple, but makes breakfast or brunch a special occasion.

I like this recipe a lot. I tried the sausage and mushroom mixture with a couple fried eggs it was good but then I baked the eggs with pepperjack and it was awesome. the problem with baking eggs is you can't tell by looking at them that they are cooked the way you like them so you have to cook by time. I would say 10 minutes would have your eggs at sunny side up hard. So be careful. I kept looking at the egg mixture in the oven and ended up over cooking them. It was still good. i have to add that I buttered the ramekins before I started I don't think that was part of the recipe. make the sausage mixture the day before when you have time it makes it so easy the morning of so much more casual when your still sleepy.

This recipe is delicious. I couldn't find fennel sausage, so just added crushed fennel seed to the sausage mixture. White wine adds a lot (I didn't have white wine, but I used some leftover Prosecco. Used 2 eggs for each. Fantastic.
