This recipe was amazing...! I did all the steps but then put it in the crock pot instead to cook for 8 hours..I used a Cabernet Sauvignon for the Red wine..and it gave it an amazing flavor!!! I so recommend this recipe..I will be using it again and again!

I saw this show several times and kept waiting for short ribs to go on sale. Finally! This is a very easy recipe which I followed exactly. I had never had short ribs before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The sauce was delicious and the ribs came out basically like a wonderful pot roast. I have to say I'm not a pot roast fan(just my personal preference but my family loved them and asked me to make them again which I will for sure. I learned a good technique about taking the time to brown, brown, brown to give excellent flavor to pot roasted meat. So,5 stars for the family's reaction and as for me, personal preferences aside, 5 stars as pot roasts go!

Wonderful recipe. Raised in Montana with meat and potaoes as the staple, this recipe only enhances a deep rich flavors of the short ribs. Any side dish compliment it. My compliments to Chef Anne

Delicious! I made this recipe just as written and couldn't be happier with the result. The sauce was so flavorful and the meat was amazingly tender. The time and effort it took to make this meal was SO worth it. For dessert I made profiteroles (another of Ann's recipes. Making this meal made me feel a little like a 'professional' chef. : Thanks Ann - keep 'em coming!

Yummy. Made just as is except added parsnips to puree. As those before me said, taking the time to make the sauce/puree is worth it. Only three stars? Because the presentation was awful. My family all said it looked like dog 'mess' on top of potatoes. And it did. Yummy, but next time I will change the way it is presented.

I cooked this for the first time today and WOW!!!!! It turned out great. Not sure I would or could improve on this, I did use more wine then it called for, but how can you go wrong with more wine. I will be cooking this the next time I have a date with a meat eating lady.
    Thanks Anne

I just made this for dinner last night, OUTSTANDING. Absolutely delicious, I am very pleased with the way this recipe came out! My minor alterations, were that I didn't process the veggies, just chopped them in small pieces, and added about a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.I will make this again many more times. Wonderful recipe!
