This was my first time making a turkey, let alone a 20+ pound turkey. I used this recipe and my little turkey came out amazing! Although this recipe takes a lot of effort, it was well worth it. I featured it on my blog (heartforcooking.blogspot and have pictures of all the steps.

I made this for Thanksgiving this year and it was the best turkey I have ever cooked. It was so juicy and tender. Everyone raved about it.

Seriously! This is the BEST recipe! I made my first Thanksgiving dinner for my family this year. Not many people like turkey in my family but you have to have turkey on Thanksgiving. This recipe changed my family's thoughts about turkey, it was AMAZING!!! This was also my first time cooking a turkey and it so easy. I had a 12 lb bird and it cooked in 2 1/2 hours. I'm serious I can not say enough good things about this recipe! It is a MUST!!!

I have been trying for years to cook a flavorful turkey. This is the best recipe. The apple cider brine and herb crust made the turkey moist and full of flavor. It is well worth the prep time.My family loved it! Thanks Anne, you ROCK and so does this turkey!

I must say that this is indeed the best turkey I have ever had! Our cousin fixed it yesterday and I am still thinking about it. One suggestion though, do no throw out those veggies in the bottom of the roaster. They are delicious!! Not greasy at all and full of flavor. Could be used as a side dish or the next day with leftovers they were that good. Thanks Anne

Made this for Thanksgiving this year and the family loved it. I used a 48-hour dry brine since I didn't have room in the fridge, but beyond that followed it to a tee. The family loved it and I'll agree with everyone else, this was the most awesome of gravies! Will definitely make it again.

AMAZING!!!! Made this for my family of 19 this year and got nothing but raves. The juciest, tender and most flavorful white meat ever. Well worth the extra time and planning.

Honestly, one of the best turkeys I've ever had. The apple cider gravy adds just the right punch to the flavor of the turkey. There is no other way to incorporate flavor then by brining. The turkey was so moist and easy to cut. Everyone raved about the flavor of the meat and the gravy. Perfect Thanksgiving - highly recommended!

I did not care much for the strong taste of the apple cider.
