Kudos, again, Chef Anne! My family is a little iffy on most red wine recipes, but they loved this one. Definitely worth the time and effort. It just plain did "Good Things".

This was really good. I had not made it before - so I followed the recipe pretty closely. Anne's tip for browning the chicken (don't flour until the last second worked extremely well - the chicken was browned really well (made me a happy boy:-.

The next time I make this I will, add a yellow or red pepper for color and flavor. I also added carrots and left out the potatoes. I think, I would also use Madera or Marsala in addition to or instead of the brandy.

Though there are a lot of steps it's quite easy. You'll get great results if you follow the recipe. I served with mashers and recommend you do too - you'll want every drop of the sauce.

    Thanks Chef Anne!

I've tried many coq au vin recipes and this is my favorite but have made variations that I think made it 5 stars - added carrots, rosemary, dried shitake mushrooms in addition to fresh criminis, reduced the garlic to one clove and added some shallots, used marsala instead of brandy and used boned, skinless chicken thighs and breasts. I also cut off much of the bacon fat before rendering so I wouldn't have to skim the fat, served with mashed parsnips/potatoes and topped with minced parsley.

Wonderful. I added carrots as well and wished for more veggies. Killer one pot meal.

This is the best coq au vin I have ever made! Everyone LOVED it! It was a one pot wonder that was perfect for a dinner party! I made Ina Garten's French Apple Tart for dessert to continue the French theme and it was a perfect combination.

This is so easy to make and very fun! The end result was one of the best Coq au Vin dishes I've ever had! Thanks Anne! When you make it light the brandy on fire. Its super fun as it states in the recipe! Def reccomend this one!
