This recipe made wonderful scones..... after adding another 1/2 cup of cream. (Please ask Anne to update her recipe! I made the scones the afternoon before I baked them and kept them covered in the frig overnight. After bringing them to room temp, they baked wonderfully.

I love this recipe! All of my friends and family love it when I make these scones. I do at times substitute the dried cherries for other dried fruits like cranberries, blueberries or pomegranates.

As I made these I had a crumbly mess, not even close to a dough. I added another 1/2 cup of cream and grabbed my mixer. That did the trick and I had great dough and the most amazing scones! My husband is not a fan of scones because he finds them to dry. They were very moist and my family is looking for me to whip these up every weekend.

I had the same experience as Laura in L.A. - these were a dry mess. The ratio of wet to dry ingredients is wacky. I had to knead the dough to get it to adhere enough to cut, and kneading is one thing you do NOT want to do to scones. I am baffled by all the good reviews.
