I made this for our Memorial day celebration today, to go with the burgers we will make ( after all it is National Hamburger week. My grandparents on my mothers side was German, and my grandmother made this when we would visit them during the summer in Wisconsin. She used regular ole potatoes, so that's what I used, I also added my cooked bacon after I coated the potatoes with the vinegar, broth and onions. I will serve it at room temp, it tastes amazing right now, by the time I serve it this afternoon it should tastes even better! Thanks, Anne.

Made this recipe tonight and for my family it was too greasy. I'll stick with the family recipe, more work, but worth the effort.

Very tasty and aromatic. My family loved it so much, they had seconds and had to cook more for next days dinner. I cut the potatoes a little smaller and adjusted the vinegar and broth to amount and size of potatoes. I added sliced green onions as a garnish as well.

Very good. I agree with other reviewers: needs a little bit more apple cider vinegar. Also, I like to take some cooked bacon and set it aside to throw on top...just for a little crunch!! :

I just finished making this glorious potato salad for tailgating tomorrow. Not only is it easy it looks just like the picture. I'm always looking for non mayo based salads so they won't spoil in the hot Miami sun and this is IT, my new go to. Thanks Anne for not just this but your Excellent meatballs are a hit in my house.

I made this last night to go with some bratwurst for an Oktoberfest feast. I used red potatoes and red wine vinegar instead but it turned out real tasty.. very good warm potato salad recipe!

Made this today at my husband's request for German Potato Salad. I'd never made it and had all of my memories of my mother's recipe to live up to. This was great and got rave reviews from the family. I subbed scallions for chives, but otherwise followed to the letter. I let it cool to warm room temp while I finished off the rest of the meal and it was YUMMY! I did add a smidge more vinegar for a little more tang. Just perfect.

Just deliscious! I might adjust the vinegar/stock ratio next time to have a little bit more tang, but that will depend on what the main dish will be. Wonderful just as it is! I had to make enough for 30 people so it was necessary to make a couple of batches. I think if the skillet is too small the potatoes will end up steaming more and potentially end up mushy. I did 5 times the recipe and cooked it in 2 batches using my large calphalon roasting pan over 2 burners. Worked great!
