PERFECT recipe for a novice chef!! I'm in college and working with a limited kitchen (think 6x12' space, so I used a cast iron skillet to make this for one. Set the oven to broil, let the skillet get hot while I preheated the oven, then used 2 sprigs of rosemary, minced 2 cloves of garlic and about 1 Tbsp. olive oil with a small pinch of red pepper.
Make sure to pat dry the steak then salt it well (about 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt on each side before rolling in marinade. When the pan is hot and the oven is ready, take the pan out with gloves and put it on a high element. Immediately put the marinated steak onto the pan (no extra olive oil needed for 90 seconds to sear, then flip and sear 90 seconds on the other side. Now take the pan off the element, back into the oven on broil for 5 minutes on each side and VOILA!

In the words of Chef Anne Burrell, "this makes me a Happy Happy Girl"! Let me tell you something, if you did not know that rosemary is good with beef, than you will find out. This recipe has come out perfect everytime and I have made it in bulk with big steaks and little steaks. Anne you are the BOMD and that is THAT!

My new favorite steak recipe. Used NY Strip Steaks, tastes just like our local favorite steakhouse, without nearly the cost! Highly recommend this recipe.
