Anne, you made me a Rock Star!

I had a Big Six-Oh dinner party for my foodie friend, (Stone Crabs & Steak, and made this mayo to use in the stone crab mustard sauce and the potato salad. So much better than store bought.

Dead simple, the instructions are perfect.

This worked great for me using a stick mixer. It set up right away for me to add remaining oil.I used this for homemade bagels and on a turkey stromboli.I did add extra mustard.Delicious! Thanks Anne for another good recipe.

I tried making mayonnaise following another recipe and it was a complete failure. I then tried right after making it following this recipe...SUCCESS. super easy!!!

To avoid the risk of Salmonella, I also washed the eggs shells with soap and cold water before separating the whites from the yokes. Any other suggestions?

Last question: how long can the mayo last in the fridge?

    thanks

I have tried dozens of times to make mayonnaise and failed miserably. They always broke. So, when I saw this recipe (about 20 minutes ago, I tried it.

FANTASTIC! It worked, it tasted great. It is currently residing in my refrigerator labeled and dated. I tried it on a piece of white bread (my clean palate tasting method and was so happy that I had to come over to the computer and write about it!

I would, however, back off on the vinegar just a touch (maybe an 1/8 of a cup. Other than that, I am one happy woman. I doubt I will buy mayo again!

I Thought it tasted a lot better then the others that i made some with tsp of this and a tsp of that close to the real thing. i think a little less vinger and maybe a tsp. of sugar will cut down on some of the vinger tast but i like it. i will make it again .

OMG!! SO VERY DELICIOUS!!! Tying my shoe is easier but not nearly quite as tasty!!! There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to use ANY store bought 'mayo' again.

Really easy and delicious. A little tangy from the vinegar, but that was perfect for the salad I was making. I might try adding a bit of honey or sugar next time, or lemon juice rather than vinegar. I used eggs fresh from our chickens, and mmmm, the texture is so creamy and the color is beautiful!

How should I store the extra mayo and how long will it keep?
