OMG!!!!!! This dish was so delicious. The chicken was nice and juicy, I thought it would come out extremely spicy due to the cayenne pepper, but it wasn't, I guess it was because of the syrup. I would definitely do this again. I just love the reaction I got from my family.

I broiled the chicken for about 5 min at the end. Voila, crispy skin.

This chicken turned out great!! After reading the reviews, a couple saying the skin didn't brown well, i decided to sear the chicken in a large skillet before putting it in the oven, it turned out great, moist and tender, i loved it

Suggest browning the chicken with broil or in a pan first. The skin did not crisp up at 400 degrees after 25 minutes and the color stayed light after the chicken was done.

We were looking for a new recipe for chicken and this one blew our minds. I didn't have any cayenne so I used a smoked chili powder instead and it came out great. A heads up: keep the glaze warm while you are applying it, nothing worse than a solid mass of goopy maple syrup in your pan.

@mammaberry8. Of course they did include the hash part of the episode. It's easy to find through the search feature. You shouldn't expect all dishes from one episode to be found on one page as food network does not arrange them that way. If you want dishes from the same episode just click on the episode's name "sweet surprise" under the title, and a list will come up including the hash you're looking for. Otherwise write in the search box up there "sweet potato anne burrel" and it'll come up. Id post the link but it's not allowed.

I am disappointed that they did not include the sweet potato hash part of this recipe. I tried to rewatch the episode to see if I could catch it but I didn't. Does anyone have any ideas of how they might have prepared it?

Tasty, easy and satisfying. Having a heavy, cast iron pan helps you get good browning. The 'hash' recipe goes so perfectly with the sweet, spicy chicken.

I replaced the half chicken with chicken breast! Dark meat creeps me out, I would have to say this I love anne but this was not her best dish, it was okay! This was very easy to make but I had to add some flavor it was very plain!!

I LOVE this dish!! I did however use bone in chicken breast which took a little longer to cook, but it was so moist and full of flavor. It was very simple to make and the cayenne gave it a very nice mild kick. :
