    A winner!!!! Easy to make and huge flavor. Just follow the recipe (and, yes, frying the bacon in butter really makes the difference. My dinner guests loved it. You could serve a large bowl of this with bread or a roll for a lunch.

    Absolutely delicious--the best mushroom soup I have ever eaten. I made it exactly by the recipe---very easy--- and served with crusty bread and some marinated red peppers. Will be making this again and again---Thanks, Anne!

    Oh my this soup was good! We LOVE mushrooms so I used a variety of different kinds. This was hearty and rich, perfect for a cold day. Could have used more bacon flavor though...but then we also love bacon. Served this with crusty bread and a salad and it hit the spot! Love love love this soup!

    Loved it. Lots of work, but would be so good in any recipe that calls for cream of mushroom soup instead of using the canned stuff. Probably going to double it next time I make a batch.

    This recipe is just wonderful. Possibly the best mushroom soup I have ever had. I'll be making this again. Smooth and creamy and so delicious. This would make a wonderful sauce for pork chops. I didn't add the wine for I'm not fond of wine in any dish.

    wow this is fabulous i used marsala wine instead of the sherry and it was rich and smooth and creamy and rich and rich and i am in LOVE am making it again today ty ty ty anne
