Easy to make and looked just like the picture but...there was no marriage of the ingredients as to taste. Butterscotch was the only flavor that stood out. Where was the lemon? Where was the butter? I tossed them out. Not worthy to share. I have a reputation to uphold.

These are awesome!! I made them for a Christmas party and my family liked them so much I had to make a second batch to have enough for the party. The lemon is a perfect counter to the cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk. The butterscotch adds richness to the oatmeal crumb.

With a 5 star rating and 138 reviews, I thought that this recipe was a "sure thing;" however, I was terribly disappointed. These bars were way too lemony. I threw away the remainder of the batch after sampling. If, and only if I'm desperate, and I make these again, I think I would leave out all of the lemon and zest.

These bars really are quite yummy. They are definitely rich and not short on taste -- I will be making them again. One variation I did is I put dried cranberries in the top layer. They added a bit of tangy-ness and bite to the already rich bars. I knew that Anne's recipe would not dissapoint! I did cut them right after I pulled them out of the fridge -- you should definitely let them sit for at least ten minutes to cutting them is not so difficult.

if you like butterscotch, which I do, then you'll love these bars! I think I might have cooked the first layer a little too long (15 min because they were a bit crunchy but still great. I will cook them the minimum 12 min next time, and there will be a next time! I didn't chill them. Just kept them at room temp until I cut them into bars. They cut beautifully and tasted great!

I made these for a holiday party at work last year, and they were a big hit. The lemon really cuts the sweetness of the butterscotch and sugar, so they're sweet but not too sweet. Very simple to make - these are on my short list for holiday baking now!

OMG! These things are the BOMB!! I was worried about the cinnamon but it marries very well and the oatmeal lends a great texture!! SO GOOD!

I love these! This will be my 3rd Christmas making these. Everyone that eats them, loves them! They're made with oatmeal, so obviously going to be a bit crumbly, mmmm can't wait to make them again!
