Very, very good. It was well worth the time it takes to make. I made it as listed the first time. Though it was good, I thought it was a little salty and strong w the wine. I fixed it a second time w less salt and 1 c. wine and for me, was the right amount and super good. Thanks for sharing the recipe - it is one of my favorites!!!

Great result. Everyone loved it. Quite complaining about the amount of salt, and just use less. That is what I did.

We literally are preparing this as I type.We have decided to not Salt so Heavily. Will add Pepper instead, plus some Red Peppers and Mushrooms. This is Our delight~onions, mushrooms and red bell peppers. Plus, Chicken stock in place of water.Took 1 star off for excessive salting because of the amount in Tomato Paste. We have the "core recipe" which is similar to others on FoodNetwork. Thanks

Couldn't locate veal or beef shanks and I was very excited to try recipe. So instead I got some English cut beef short ribs since they also benefit from a low slow cook. Followed the recipe without changes and OMG it is so good. Will try again as soon as I can locate the shanks. Thanks Anne

Anne is "fabulous", this recipe is terrific. I agree, we all learn so much from her. Just a side note, if you don't use a sturdy heavy pot on this one, the liquid has a tendency to cook up faster. I added a tiny more liquid after awhile. love this recipe and many more of Anne's. Great show !

Delicious! I did use red instead of white wine, but other than that, it's great. Only issue - how much water to use... It says "add more liquid" but how much do you need after an hour of cooking.. wound up adding too much and the sauce was way too watery... the flavors were diluted. We had to let the osso buco sit while we reduced the sauce on the stove top for 15 minutes. Will make again with less water.
