Absolutely delicious! My family loved it. The only reason I give it 4 out of 5 is that it takes so long--it's hard to wait for something that smells so good. But it's worth it. I would definitely make it again. I used a cabernet this first time, but next time I'll try a merlot.

This recipe was fantastic! I, too, was seriously concerned about the amount of salt used when watching the show. I simply used salt to suit my taste. We do like to heavily salt our pasta water, anyway. It did take a long time to "cook", but not a ridiculous amount of time to prepare...maybe 45 minutes. The rest of that time was spent simmering, stirring, and adding water. If you have the time, give this a shot. You won't be sorry!

I have never done the brown-brown-brown method of Bolognese before, and when I saw her show I knew I had to try it. I'll admit that I oly made 2/3 of the recipe and used 2lbs of meat, etc; I slavishly browned all the elements--even when it seemed like they were burning, and in the end I got delicious, full-flavored sauce. We ate it one night on spaghetti, and then I froze the rest and wound up using it in lasagna. Will definitely make this again! (I deducted one star b/c with a 4+ hour cooking time, it's not a weekday meal.

This makes a LOT of sauce. I'll halve the recipe next time, but I will definitely make it again because it is amazing.

Even though the recipe was time consuming, the payoff was in the depth of flavor. Fantastic!

Thanks to Anne and her detailed instructions! This was great even though I used 1/2 the amt. of meat, by mistake. It was even better when I took her advise & added the pasta water at the end..that really brought it home. Who knew? Anne, of course.

I watched the show, twice, and had to make the recipe. I followed it faithfully and it was delicious! Great recipe for a lazy Sunday afternoon. The leftovers (which I just finished, were even better, if that's possible! Anne Burrell is a genius!

This is the best Bolognese I have ever tasted. Very restaurant quality. You must take the time to really do all the browning, but that is the key to this rich and flavorful sauce.I did do half beef and half hot italian sausage for a bit of the spice. Really, just perfect with garlic bread, salad and a nice red wine. Hubby is already raiding the fridge for 3rds!

I've tried different Bolognese recipes but this one tops it. She's a bit out there and wild but you could tell that she knows what she's doing. It's a recipe that takes a long time but worth the wait! My husband loved it too and agreed that it was worth the wait.
