The recipe came out fantastic! As someone who has been following real restaurant cooking for years, I hate to break it to all you folks who are scared about the salt in this recipe... EVERY time you go out to eat and get a great meal, the chef has poured at least that much salt, butter, cream, olive oil, etc. into your meal... Why do you think it tastes soooo good?!?! Don't be scared of it! This is a dish for special occasions for the home cook, considering how long it takes to make. And as stated in earlier reviews, once divided out into eight or more portions, the sodium content drops dramatically. As for Ms. Burrell's on-camera persona, she's a real chef. That's how they really act, minus all the cursing. Way to go, Anne! Keep it up!

It is so rich in flavor. I usually make my Bolognese with pork, veal and beef, and also add milk at the end. I followed her recipe exactly(yes, including all that salt and it is much richer than any other I have tasted. It was delecious, and I will be making it again, for company next time.
(don't forget to add that sprinkle of olive oil on the dish when you serve it

Very good, I think adding some canned diced tomatoes at the end just before serving would freshen the dish up a bit.
Love this Chef and TV Show.

My husband and I could not wait to make this bolognese after we saw the show. Worth every minute of the time it takes to make. The outcome: Wonderful!...Fantastic! I look forward to trying more of her recipes.

This, according to my family was the best meat sauce they have had!

After watching the show on Sunday, I was very inspired to try this rustic Italian pasta. It took up all afternoon, but the end result was fantastic! Cooking for myself, I thought this would work for sharing with my roommate for a week's worth of meals (yes, on a budget. But "6-8 servings?" Seriously? This could feed WAY more than that! I also had excess sauce, which I am freezing for future use in a lasagne. I packed up as much of the pasta as I thought we would eat for the fridge, but then froze individual portions for "TV dinner" style meals later this month. Definitely a delicious dish, but you might try halving the recipe if you're not cooking for a huge group.

I caught the tail end of the show, but I love Marcella Hazan's Bolognese so much, I thought I would try a new version. I was initially skeptical about the TWO CUPS of tomato paste, but decided that it must be correct. Does anyone know if it is correct? It was WAY too much paste. Bolognese is supposed to be a meat sauce, but this was so "tomatoy"- would not do it again. Marcella's is way better and easier, too.

Anne you have out done yourself with this one!!It was fabulous and easy. I followed the directions to the letter and it turned out GREAT!! My family said to ax my old spaghettis sauce recipe and always make this one. It was very hearty, rich in flavor and satisfying. Can't wait to make it again!!
