I am a vegetarian so I switched the bacon with tempeh bacon and the chicken stock with vegetable stock. Everyone loved it. Thanks for the recipe

Easy. Delicious. What more can I say? A lot, actually. I grew Swiss chard in my veg garden for the first time, and trust me there's a lot of it. So I made this recipe tonight. I enjoyed the bitterness of the greens and the spiciness of the red pepper. My 6 yo son tried it and liked it but it was too spicy. I'm going to make it again tomorrow night for the whole family, and this time I'll leave out the red pepper and add a pinch of sugar to cut the bitterness of the greens (I've seen this suggested. I think my kids will really enjoy it. And then the next night ...

Just made this, it was great. The only change I made was to use chicken stock (didnt have veggie stock also added a little apple cider vineger at the end. Never had swiss chard before, this is a keeper. Thanks Anne

Delish and easy! Even my picky eater liked it. I omitted the salt, as the bacon is already salty. I think I will make swiss chard this way exclusively. :

just finished dinner and that was very good...thanx to all for advising not to put the salt in...you are absolutely right...I was a little disappointed I was going to have to remove the garlic but I understand now...the garlic flavor was so evident in the bacon and what I took out was terribly strong...as the chard stems were cooking, I didn't notice much aroma, but as soon as the leaves went in I was amazed at...not sure how to describe it...the twanginess...is that even a word? wonderful flavor, and I am not a greens eater...my hubby said it was "quite edible"...that's a big compliment for him...recommend this to all and will definately make again...thanx!

oh my goodness!I was not expecting the flavors and intensity that these few ingredients could create together. My boyfriend, who only eats a little bit of spinach when i cook it, devoured most of the chard, saving me only a little! Definitely a keeper, so simple and delicious.

I substituted pancetta for the bacon and it was wonderful. Thanks Anne!
