Love these cookies! Just the right amount of cinnamon. To those considering substituting milk chocolate chips... well each to his own taste. There are a lot of recipes out there for chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, all pretty much the same. And there's nothing wrong with an old-fashioned choco-oatmeal cookie. But what makes this cookie a special experience is the dark chocolate chunks and the sea salt garnish. Take away those and it's just another cookie.

Thank You Anne, A SUPER AWESOME cookie. Tasty, and easy to make, I used 6 ounces Ghirardelli 60% Bittersweet chips and 6 ounces Guittard Super semisweet chips. Followed written recipe for all other items.

Made these cookies for the first time tonight. They were really easy and super yummy! I love the dark chocolate with the oatmeal. I did omit the walnuts because I'm not a big fan of nuts in my baked good. I'm definitely going to try these again!

AWESOME!! I made these today for a neighbor who is having lots of friends and family in this week. These cookies were really a hit! I gave some to my daughter and she ate them all! The recipe was very easy and made about 40 cookies. The changes I made were I only had only 1 1/2 cups flour, so I made the rest up with oatmeal which helped the texture. I also added a few dried cranberries and substituted pecans for the walnuts, just preference. I will definitely add these to my favorites.

OK I did this to one other recipe and I HATE doing it because I haven't made them yet, but they look like about a 4 lol. Seriously, making them as soon as I go vote (primary day here in CT and when I get back I am making them for a co-worker's birthday. I'm really nervous - he's really picky. Leaving out the nuts and substituting Nestle's Chocolate Chunks. Keeping my fingers crossed - will post later tonight with birthday boy's and my family's comments!

Love this recipe you can substitute almost everything and still get a great cookie, and if your looking for little extra nutrition sprinkle ground flaxseed in batter. Taste great. I also sprinkled little salt on top and that sweet and salty bite just made it

This is a delicious basic recipe. You can substitute chips for chunks, or switch out the nuts, or anything else that sounds good. This is my go to cookie recipe.

Just got them out of the oven for the first bite. Delicious! I substituted the walnuts with pecans. The taste is delightful.
I do agree with the other comment, Not a whole lot of Oatmeal taste, just a tint of flavor. But, very good.
I'm sending them to New Jersey as a gift.

I have made these cookies a few of times and made a small adjustment. Instead of using all dark chocolate, I used 6 oz. of milk chocolate, and 6 oz. of dark chocolate. It makes a big difference and worth using chunk chocolate instead of chocolate chips. I enjoy the baking chocolate bars from Trader Joes, and keep them in the freezer. My family loves these cookies! I make them large enough so people can make ice cream sandwiches...Yum!!
