Wow! When I saw Anne making these cookies on her show, my mouth fell open in amazement. This recipe is almost identical to a recipe I came up with (I thought and have been making for a while. I love Anne's cookie recipe and would have never thought about adding the salt on top! What a difference a little salt makes, right? My cookies have dried cranberries and raisins so they are super, super chunky. I named mine "Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookies" also. I think I have perfected my recipe, but I also love Anne's cookies, just because I like to try new recipes. Besides, hers are so close to mine, I just had to have a "throw down", solo of course. However, Anne is welcome in my kitchen anytime. Thanks!

Super Easy and Super Delicious! We omitted the nuts (no one in our house likes them and added chopped dried cherries! Yum! It was like a Chocolate Covered Cherry Oatmeal Cookie!!

Were soooo good!!! Made 1/2 with salt and 1/2 without! Also, made them a little larger. Got about 30 out of the recipe. Not too crisp - not too soft! Perfect! and Delicious!

this is my new favorite cookie recipe. i watched the show and i usually make my cookies a little different so i wanted to try the way anne did them, and they were seriously amazing. i didn't have the sea salt she had on hand so i just used kosher salt on top and it must have had the same affect. the saltiness combined with the chocolate chunks (use chunks not chips like the recipe calls for (you maynot think it makes a difference but it does! makes for the chewiest sweet and salty cookie ever! i used semi sweet chunks and no nuts and they were great and everyone loved them! i'm sure any variation used to your liking would make them just as good as mine!

I cannot imagine anyone ever giving these truly super yummy cookies less than five stars! We used 1 cup of whole wheat pastry flour and 1 cup of regular, and the consistency was superb. As another review mentioned, DO NOT skip the sea salt (we used Maldon salt. It truly makes the cookies (and if you don't have sea salt, don't sub with table salt, either; table salt will be too harsh. Delicious!

Watched the show on Saturday and HAD TO make them today. Husband has dubbed them excellent. A friend who loves cookies is on his way over to take a dozen after hearing about them and I just texted one of my kids to stop by and try them. Made 48 regular size cookies and then had enough dough left to make five larger ones. Salted dark chocolate cookies---who would have thot?

I love to cook but rarely bake. These looked so good I had to give them a try. They turned out WONDERFUL! I made half with the salt garnish and half without (for my son. Both were great. This is a keeper!

THANK YOU Anne! Finally a chocolate chip cookie that doesn't turn into a chocolate crisp for me! Chocolate and sea salt is a perfect match.
