I was excited when I saw this recipe. I'm glad I did a test run on this one. It was way too orange. The sweet potato taste was lost and the crunchy topping was oily. Will not make again.

I was so looking forward to tasting this recipe, and I didn't really care for it at all. I didn't like the oatmeal topping at all. Maybe it was the sweet potatoes. I'm thinking of trying it again with yams and hoping for a better result.

When I saw it, I was like yummy. When I tried it, I was excited. It was very good and my kids really enjoyed it! I paired it with BBQ chicken and cornbread. Oh yeah, it was very simple to make.

I've made this recipe twice since Thanksgiving and will be making it New Years Day with a smoked turkey. Everyone loved it! I decided to use Royal Yams instead so haven't tried it with sweet potatoes yet. It's GREAT!

This is a great recipe for a large dinner. I made it for a Christmas side and it was easy and a huge hit. I watched Ann make it on her show and she made the comment, this is a side dish not a dessert, which I appreciated because so many other recipes call for a ton of sugar. I made the casserole 2 days in advance and it sat in my fridge. Christmas day I simply pulled it out made the crumb topping and popped it in the oven, it could not have been easier! Everyone loved it and no one guessed that it had dried aprictos in it.

I am so glad to finally find an absolutely great new sweet potato casserole recipe. No pineapple, no marshmallows, not drowning in butter. Only the wonderful flavor of the sweet potato with just enough sweetness of the apricot and honey and the contrasting crunch of the walnut topping. What a nice new treat.
Good luck in your upcoming duel with Robert. Looking forward to it.

The consistency would be better if the potatoes were run thru a food mill. We found the potatoes to be stringy and texturally unpleasing.

O MY IT FANTASTIC!!! I made it for this year's Thanksgiving and everyone loved it :^D. Your palate is expecting sweet potato and you get a hint of orange and spice yummy. I’m not much for dried fruit so I left out the dried apricots.

While I'm perfectly fine with Ye Olde Yam Recipe for Turkey Day, we decided to go with this as a change of pace as well as the fact that we were making the stuffed turkey breast to go with it. At first, the sweetness and brightness of it surprised me but I quickly settled in. The topping is amazing with it! Used fresh sweet potatoes and it couldn't have been any easier!

I made this for Thanksgiving and it got rave reviews! I omitted the orange zest but used the juice of the orange. I like orange zest but my mother doesn't. I also didn't add the honey as it was sweet enough. I didn't add the milk as it didn't seem like it needed it. I think it came out with just the right sweetness and texture. My dad commented to me that he liked the crunch that the oatmeal and walnuts added. I tripled the recipe for 21 people and there was only a little bit left over. Overall a true success!
