THEY TASTE LIKE DEVIL DOGS. A LITTLE DRY, I HAD TO WASH IT DOWN WITH MILK. GOOD TASTE BUT WASN'T WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR IN A WHOOPIE PIE. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T GIVE ONE OF ANNE'S RECIPE A FIVE STAR.

This is a great dessert for a crowd - I've made it 4 times now, and I like it better each time I make it! I've made them mini-sized (w/ a 1 Tablespoon sized scoop which seems to go over well, espcially with children. The regular size seems VERY large. The frosting filling is delicious, and I've used it on other desserts (it was very yummy on gingerbread cupcakes.

This was an excellent recipe! I have never watched your show, but after trying this delicious creation, I will definitely catch it. They are a big hit! I followed the directions exactly - used a silpat instead of parchment and 1% milk instead of buttermilk (the store was out of buttermilk and the raves keep on coming.
Thank you for sharing!

Very difficult to make...time frames are way off! Also the cakes came out very dry and bitter and the filling was missing flavor.

When I tried your cream cheese frosting recipe, it turned out pudding like not scoopable, sticking to the whisk attachment, like it did in the show. I used room temperature cream cheese and butter---does the temperature of the cream cheese and butter play a factor in how this frosting turns out?
Love the show....look forward to many more!

P.S. I also adjusted the time and temp: using a convection oven, I set the temp at 375* instead of 400* and, borrowing from another recipe, baked the cookies for only 9 minutes. I think that even 12 minutes would have been too long. Only my opinion, though.

I enjoyed the flavor of your "whoopie pies", but they are not traditional New England style Whoopie Pie. The filling was too much like frosting. I use marshmallow fluff in my filling recipe and my cake is more cake like. Enjoy the show, though.
