Made this yesterday and it was oh, so good!
I let it marinate in plastic bag in fridge for 5 hours, then removed from fridge 45 minutes before cooking. Don't have a grill, so I used a cast iron skillet.

    Very flavorful!

Well, I didn't have sesame oil on hand so I used Olive. I added a little soy sauce and red wine vinager. I also used about half as much ginger and garlic. I let it marinate for a couple of hours then I broiled it for about 8 min a side and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Very interesting flavor, my wife and 3 year old loved it!

That sesame oil is wayy too much. Tastes almost like peanut butter! I doctored the marinade up with a ton of more lime juice, another tbsp of honey, and whisked it all together. Be sure to taste as you go along. Using this on some NY strip steaks. I'm sure it was good, just giving the low rating for the overpowering sesame flavor.

I had very little time to actually get this done - just under the 30 minute minimum. As I prepped the rest of dinner I would rub the marinade into the steak (though the bag, making sure I had the ginger on the meat as I rubbed. And I didn't have a lot of seasame oil and the amount called for didn't seem like enough to I added a bit of olive oil as well. Didn't seem to change it much - great flavor!

I love this recipe not only because it tastes great, but because it's so easy! When I get my flank steak home from the market, I marinate it, then shrink wrap it and freeze. When we feel like having it, I take it out of the freezer, defrost and cook. We serve with a root veg and a green veg. Easy and delicious! Cutting the steak thin is key. Also, don't forget to cut across the grain before you marinate so it's less tough. We have BBQ'd it and also grilled it inside on grill pan. Both ways were good.

i am making this tonight and am wondering how long to marinade. Some reviews say its bland and others say the flavors are too strong. Could it be how long they marinated the steak? Wish the reviewers had noted marinating time they used!

I had everything on hand for the marinade so this came together fast. Had time for cocktail hour while it was marinating and then threw it on the grill for 8 minutes a side. This came out moist and tender using flank steak. None of the flavors overpowered the meal so there was a nice balance.

I saw this recipe on tv and couldn't wait to try it. The marinade smelled so good while I was making it last night. I marinated the meat overnight. It smelled good while cooking. Once I got it off (and let it rest I was let down by the flavor. I was expecting a stronger presence from such a strong marinade, but it was very mild. In fact, I didn't taste any of the marinade at all. I will not be making this again.

I loved this recipe. I only had hot pepper Sesame oil which turned out really good. I can't wait to do this for company.
