My family loves this recipe! I add more honey than it calls for so it's not so bland. We just had it last night and I can't wait to make it again!!!!

I love this recipe. It's very forgiving to changing things, too. More mango? no problem! More chicken? Go for it! Love garlic? Add a little more! I usually serve it with soy sauce from a Chinese market (I hate kikoman, it's insulting and sticky rice. I've made it countless times. It has a permanent place in my recipe collection.

It was delish- followed it exactly except at the end i added little bit more soy sauce and i added 1 tsp of dark brown sugar. It came out great:

I concur with other reviewers - the chicken is a little bland. More honey would've helped. I also added some brown sugar near the end to sweeten it up a bit more. There is WAY TOO MUCH salt called for in the rice. It's almost inedible. I'd advise less salt in the rice - the oil and sesame seeds help a little bit but not a great deal.

I sooo wanted to love this recipe...I saw Aida make it and thought it would be great...but like some other reviewers, I thought it lacked flavor. It definitely needs something -- but I'm not sure what. After a taste, I decided to chop some cilantro and sprinkle it on top, but that just wasn't enough -- I don't think more garlic would help, either. I liked the rice, but it bordered on being a bit too salty for our taste -- next time I'll just use less. I won't be making this dish again -- just too bland.

I watched Aida make this and it looked so good. I found the chicken dish to be bland. Like another viewer, I tried to jazz it up by adding more seasoning and soy sauce but it didn't help. Very disappointed. On the plus side - I thought the rice was incredible!

I only made the chicken portion of this because I was planning to serve it over steamed Jasmine rice anyway. It was easy, but I found it bland. There was a hint of sweetness and saltiness to the chicken, but I ended up adding more soy sauce and some hot sauce to try to add more flavor-unfortunately, it didn't work. After the leftovers were refrigerated, the cashews became mushy and inedible, and I ended up tossing what little there was left. I wouldn't make this again.

I would add more soy sauce to make it more salty. Instead of mangoes, I would add pineapple or sweet pepper next time. Either I overcooked the mango or it doesn't go well with the dish, the mango tasted slimy and bland. Other than that, the dish itself tasted very similar to the take out dish from Panda Express.
