    I did not make this yet, but it sounded so good on the show. To previous comment: I don't know about the crust, but the egg whites should be able to whip even with no sugar. Maybe your bowl wasn't clean enough or you "cooked" the eggwhites on the double boiler.

    I can tell they did not scale the recipe down correctly. I followed the recipe sentence by sentence and it was so gross, specifically the Meringue. I knew when it said 8 egg whites compared to only 1 cup sugar that it was going to be watery. The parfait turned out really good but the merengue ended up making the desert taste like it was topped with scrambled eggs after I had to POUR it on (forget cute dots. Also, the crust would not stick together to even make a cookie crust. 2 eggs was way too little to make it stick together. It ended up being a mess.
