I added more bread than the recipe called for but still ended up too syrupy. The flavors were good though just need to add even more bread next time around!

I made this recently and it was awesome. However because of the complaints on the wetness I slightly altered it. It only calls for 8 oz of bread which I think must be a typo I used an entire Challah loaf which was 16oz and it was perfect. Also, a great top off to it is Giada's honey syrup.

I saw Giada make this dish one afternoon and immediately printed it out because it looked so easy and delicious. I'm not sure what went wrong because it seems like most of the other reviewers had good results, but my dish turned out very watery. I used fresh blueberries and followed the directions exactly. It was still watery at 45 min so I cooked it for another 10 min but even then, the dish never really "set." I will say the flavors were very good but I think I would use less milk and less syrup....

My kids love these pancakes!! My kids friends love these pancakes!! I always add very good vanilla to the batter. They always come out great! My kids get pancakes almost every morning. It's what they ask for. They don't like the blue-berry syrup, but the syrup is awesome and very easy.

i made the baked french toast with blueberries for brunch , exactly to specification. for my husband and daughter. we loved it ! there was so much left over and i had a memorial day party to go to that afternoon and wanted to make something for the party. i tasted the french toast as it cooled and said i think this would make an excellent bread pudding. well, i put it in the refrigerator and put it in a lovely plate with lemon slices dipped in sugar around it. it looked beautiful and was fabulous. the dish was a hit at the party. KUDOS GIADA. I think you are fabulous.

As a nineteen year old college boy, I find that convenience food typically fulfills my dietary needs. However the artificial flavors of McDonald's and Burger King destroy the soul. So on a lazy Saturday morning such as this, I find that cooking gives me a reconnect to my roots. As I read the ingredients to this breakfast, and contemplating the idea of cinnamon and lemon zest, I decided to give it a try. By far this was my favorite breakfast dish ever. After reading the reviews, I decided to use dried cranberries to avoid the watery consistency mentioned by using frozen blueberries. I halved this recipe in order to better fit the appetites of my parents and myself as well as reducing the bake time to thirty minutes. This breakfast will forever be in my collection, I highly recommend preparing it at home.

Just made this and frozen blueberries are pretty awful (I thought I'd try to save some money - the bottom of the casserole is watery and there really isn't any blueberry taste. The lemon zest, though, is FABULOUS. Also, I used a little more than half a loaf of French bread (because the loaf was 15oz and the recipe called for 8oz - I think I should've used almost the whole loaf. The casserole is quite eggy. But I liked it so much that I'll try it again using challah and fresh berries.

I saw this on Giada at Home and it looked so delicious that I had to try it out for breakfast. What a disappointment! It was just OK, mediocre at best. I would have much preferred to save the cooking time and make traditional slices of French toast in the frying pan. The flavor was good, but not extraordinary - certainly not what I was expecting after all the rave reviews. I'll definitely use lemon zest, maple syrup, and blueberries on my next round of French toast, but it will definitely not be this recipe.
