Got it from Bobbys cookbook. Flavor is supurb. I agree with reviews below that it make quite a bit for 2 or 4 stakes. Best to experiment wit proportions for your use and taste. BTW, I used a 1/4 cup 18 year old balsamic vinegar which is already thick. A little expensive but well worth it.

My husband followed recipe as written and turned out good. Nice addition to steak. Next time will 1/2 or 1/4 recipe as it made way more than we needed.

TYPO! if you follow the recipe as written, bbuckser is absolutely right! I did (from his cookbook; same typo and you could fix your driveway or cover a roof with it - TAR!!! but cutting the balsamic to 1/2 cup and reducing it to 1/4 cup works - and is still heavy on the balsamic side (I cut with even more butter, and thought it was even better. Also, it makes a TON for just 4 steaks - but the flavor is great once the rations were adjusted. I do recommend it, but fix the typo/ration first!

I agree with bbuckser. This recipe does NOT work at all. Balsamic vinegar reduction becomes a useless tar that does not blend with the butter at all. One star because zero stars is not available.

Wonderful! I halved the entire recipe bc this was a test run. My family loved it - even the kids. Great flavor on steak. Turns out half the recipe is MORE than enough. I will make again, but will always half it - maybe even quarter it.

This recipe does not work. Tried twice and neither time was I able to make it work. Think the problem is the 2 cups Balsamic Vinegar. I am unable to reduce it to a quarter cup without it turning into tar. The amount of reduction that is called for is 400%. I believe the starting amount of vinegar should be 1/2 cup. Every other Balsamic reduction that I am able to find only says to reduce the vinegar by half. Has anybody tried this recipe and made it work following the directions given?
