Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.

Cream the sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

In a small bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Mix in the milk and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

Add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Add dry ingredients, mixing just until flour disappears.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Set aside to cool on a rack for 15 minutes. Remove bread from pan, invert onto rack and cool completely before slicing.

Spread slices with honey or serve with ice cream.

Very tasty and spongy. Best baked ever. Feeling proud
One of the best banana breads I've made. I did add 1 tsp vanilla and 5 bananas based on other peoples review. I rarely have time to make banana bread when my bananas are brown. So I freeze them. When thawed, they are a little browner but the banana taste is intense. I would recommend this to all bakers!
I added 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp maple flavor, and since I didn't have any cinnamon I used 1 1/2 tsp of pumpkin spice. I blended the bananas and milk in my Vitamix for 10 secs to make sure the bananas weren't lumpy. It was the fluffiest, most tasty banana bread I have ever made. Thanks!!
THIS IS THE BEST RECIPE I HAVE EVER MADE. I used 5 bananas and I used vanilla and caramel extract but other than that I followed precisely followed the recipe. If you're considering trying this the time for deliberation is over MAKE IT you won't be sorry.
My family and co-workers loved this recipe. I only added a cap full of vanilla. Great banana bread!
I use this as a base for my own banana bread recipe, it's heavenly. Like the other commenters say, add vanilla and make sure that the amount of bananas is 3 large or 4 small. Also, blend the bananas because if they're chunky it will ruin it.
I am not a baker, but I don't like wasting food, and had exactly three brown bananas. What appealed to me about this recipe was that the reviews indicated a lot of room for forgiveness, rather than typical baking precision.

Along with others, I added about a splash of vanilla and a dash of nutmeg. I also added chopped pecans and about a dollop of Greek yogurt. My only complaint is that four bananas would really be better. Also, break out the mixer rather than exhausting yourself by trying to hand beat the butter, sugar, and eggs.
This is hands down the best banana bread ever. I did add a bit of vanilla essence and an extra banana. However you cannot go wrong with this one. My picky 9 year old just kept saying wow when she was eating it. Doesn't get better than that.
    So easy and so delicious!
Really tasty, really easy. It took forever to bake... I wondered what was going on, then realized my helper had set the oven to 300! Cranked it up and let it go for an extra 20 minutes at 325. Amazingly enough, it turned out fine. :) Smells SO good.
I used self rising flour instead of the all purpose plus leavening. I also added half a tsp of vanilla, and about 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. Turned them into muffins and cut the baking time in half and gave me 15 full sized muffins. Great recipe and really easy. The prep time is also a bit off. I had these ready to go in the oven in less than 45 minutes.
BEST BANANA BREAD EVER! I listened to other reviews and halved the salt, added a tsp of vanilla. Everyone loved it making another batch now :)
Easiest recipe for simple delicious banana bread! My bf and I loved it!
This recipe is perfect just as is! My husband and I LOVE it!
    Absolutely amazing recipe.

Cooked it a few minutes shorter, but I'm sure it's good full time to.

Cream your butter with a fork and whip. It's a workout but WORTH IT.

    Stop now and go enjoy.
Fool proof, solid recipe. I'm an intermediate cook but don't do as much baking. I only had 2 bananas and my loaf pan was smaller than called for. I haven't had much luck baking in loaf pans (pound cake, pumpkin bread, etc) so I was dubious considering the aforementioned but this turned out perfect! A keeper!
This is the best recipe for banana bread! Followed the recipe as wriitten, but also added chocolate chips...it was great!
if you make them as muffins is the cooking time shorter
Yes. I can make eight mini loaves from this recipe and I start checking at twenty min. I'd recommend the same for muffins
I wish I could give it more stars 10 maybe

Great Recipe I heared about it while at a book review for Great American Author "Richard Rovair's" book 'Upstairs Thinking in My Brain'.

This is simple and easy to make not to mention it taste sooooooooo gooooood. I ate this bread and read his book all by myself!
    Cool Thanks
I followed the recipe but mine didnt turn out moist. I kept close check on it but its a little blah. I did make a mistake by not using unsalted butter. I should have reduced the amount of salt I added. I think 1 tsp would be too much even if I had used the unsalted butter.
I pull the bread out when the toothpick comes out mostly clean not completely clean and it turns out perfect. Maybe that will help you
I add mini chocolate chips and make muffins with it. So moist & delicious.
Mine is in the oven now, with chocolate chips added! Smells great! Hopefully turns out as great as you said!
Wonderful recipe! I made some changes however.

I used 1 cup flour, and 1 cup oatmeal. I added 1 teaspoon ground ginger to the dry ingredients. I used 1 cup brown sugar instead of white sugar.Added 1 teaspoon vanilla to banana mixture. And I folded in 2/3 cup pecans (roasted) at the end. I cooked the mixture in a 9x13 metal pan (generously coated with nonstick spray) at 350 degrees F for 40 to 50 minutes.

    Perfection!
    (For me)
Whoops! I meant to say I cooked the mixture in a 9 inch cake pan.
The entire family loved this!!!!!!!! Made muffins with this recipe!!!!! Very simple for even a new baker!!!!
Best banana bread recipe ever! Moist and great flavor. I changed a little for the recipe. I only used 1/2 tsp salt and added 1 tsp vanilla extract. It was great! Definitely a keeper.
Great moist texture and banana flavor, I also added a tblspoon of vanilla. I think the 325 cook temp is what sets it apart from others that are usually at 350 lending a dark, dense and dry bread.
I've been using the same banana bread recipe for years and wanted to change it up a bit. THIS RECIPE IS DELICIOUS!!!! I seriously had no idea banana bread could taste this moist. I think the prep and cook time is waaaay off. Did not take 2 hours to prep, more like 5-10 minutes. I made mini muffins so my cook time was 12 minutes per 2 dozen. Thank you for a GREAT recipe.
I initially thought the same thing but realized the 2 hour prep time includes time to bring unsalted butter to room temp. Good to know about reduced baking time with the mini muffins.
Wait... I had no idea that you were supposed to bring the butter to room temp! I always microwave it.
I reduced the sugar in the recipe by 1/3, added about 1/2-1 teaspoon of vanilla and only used 2 bananas. The bread turned out amazing, I'm definitely going to make this again when I forget to eat bananas soon enough.
I added a teaspoon of vanilla extract and I think it gave it a great flavor. The bread came out very good and lighter rather than dense.
Fave banana bread recipe so far! Thanks to another suggestion, I too divided batter into 2 (metal nonstick) loaf pans and they baked well at 40min. I like extra cinnamon, vanilla extract and 1 extra banana. Also, Added a topping of walnuts tossed in brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter to make it more like a simple dessert.
Excellent recipe. The sugar can easily be cut in half, however, to make it more appropriate for breakfast. It's still sweet enough with 1/2 cup.
Fabulous! I added some Vanilla and applesauce :) It's probably the best banana bread recipe I know <3 I have this written down now! It's so easy too. I split the mixture into two loaf pans and bake it for 40 mins :) Turns out perfect <3 <3 <3 Some of my family members are mildly allergic to banana but they can't resist the smell and have to try it.
    Haha they inhale it!
