Oh my! Inedible! Maybe if I had served the pie in 1 hour - but I had to make it ahead. Fortunately our guests cancelled. I would have been mortified to serve this pie - the strawberries and bananas were so hard you couldn't cut them - the cool whip/pudding was icy, The only thing edible was the ice cream. I am going to turn this pie into a blizzard and eat it with a spoon later. I hate to just throw it out!
Others made the same observations but gave the pie a 5 anyway?

This pie was soooo good!! Pretty quick and easy to make...the wait for it to re-freeze was the only hard part! I think next time i'll put the banana slices in place of the strawberry slices on top of the ice cream and serve with fresh strawberries next time....rock hard frozen strawberries are pretty inedible....had to wait for them to thaw a bit before i could dive into my slice of pie!

This was a fantastic recipe! I made the mistake of picking up chocolate icecream instead of vanilla and I happend to have vanilla pudding on hand so I switched that part of the recipe, then I used fresh strawberries because I never saw that you should use anything else, this was amazing! Lots of flavor and lots of oooohs and aaaahs! lots of different flavors, but tastes just like the banana splits we made as kids! thank you hungry girl.

I think I will do the first layer bananas and freeze it and add the fresh strawberries when serving it. I wasnt a huge fan of the frozen strawberries either. Other than that it is simple, quick, and def a dessert my kids loved!

Super easy to make and it impressed the heck out of my new husband. When you cut into it, the strawberries are frozen solid and can never really get room temperature because if you let the pie sit out the ice cream will melt into liquid. Not sure I "loved" frozen strawberries. I let it set in the freezer for 5 hours and the ice cream was still easy to cut into...(maybe because its hot and its August. I used Cool Whip Lite and did not put the nuts on. It's really a fun dessert. Cute to bring to someone's house, also. Thanks!
