    My daughter and I LOVED making this recipe. We went ahead and reduced the amount of sugar that went into the dough to 1/2 cup, and we added 2 more tablespoons of sour cream for moisture, and it turned out divine!

    Thank you Ina...it's absolutely lovely...so many of your recipes are our "type of food". I did double up on the apple but that's not a critisism of the recipe just our love of fruit!

    Made this cake for a party and it was a hit! I cut the sugar by 1/2 cup but it was still a bit sweet. Will reduce it by 3/4 cup next time and it should be perfect.

    This dessert is easy to follow and turns out great. The cake itself is more like a pound cake, then a regular cake texture. It is sweet but I think its great. I served it hot with ice cream, and it was gone!! Thanks Ina, I plan on making this again!

    Hello! I made today Apple tatin and was kind of disappointed. I love Ina, watch her often, but this cake was too dry and way too sweet. I cut sugar portion and still was too sweet. And the cake itself was too dry. It tasted good, but it wasn't as good as I expected. I love to bake, but this time it was something I wouldn't try again. It look great though! The secret for a good caramel, make sure your fire is high and you don't mix, just move around your saucer. And don't let it burn!

    This cake was very delicious, but it could be moister. Next time, I will use more caramel sauce and drizzle it on after the cake comes out of the oven. Very nice alternative to a regular cake with icing.
