Blah. Sorry, but I'm in the bland camp on this one. We consumed it, but didn't really enjoy it. I didn't think it could be possible to be so bland with all those wonderful spices.

I love this hash! I used thighs instead of breast, I like them better. I also use the roasted basil chicken for other dinners as well.

This dish is so delicious! You can't go wrong when you brown potatoes and onions together to start. I added a little olive oil and white wine to it after putting all the ingredients together. At the very end, I topped it with chopped green onions. They added a great fresh pop to the hash. Wonderful!

My husband and I really enjoy this recipe. It's easy and I usually have all the ingredients on hand. I do add a little chicken broth when I put all the ingredients together that way it's not so dry. Thanks again Ina for a great recipe.

Made half the recipe for two, and I'm not very fast in the kitchen so took a Sunday afternoon to prepare it, but wow! Absolutely delicious; an instant hit. I used a little more butter and a small amount of olive oil for the potatoes. Cut them a little bigger so they took longer to cook, but the carmelized onion gave them a lovely flavor and color. I took a bowl over to my daughter's and she and her husband were disappointed because I didn't bring a bigger bowl! I took care to use fresh basil, parsley and thyme, and wasn't shy with the salt and pepper. I didn't peel the red potatoes, just washed them well before cooking. The chicken was moist, and the whole blend of textures and flavors were delightful.

I watched Ina make this the other day. Looked up the recipe here and saw the great reviews. So I decided to make it. I can't understand all the great reviews. My family and I thought it was really bland. I made the recipe exactly as stated. Maybe it will be better tomorrow, but not one of Ina's best :(
If you are so inclined to try this recipe, one of the best tips on here is to cook the potatoes in the oven when you bake the chicken!

This is a tasty dish, but needs some tweaking. Use 1 medium purple onion; otherwise I think the dish is overpowered with onion. Also thighs make the dish more flavorful. You could also use half breast and half thighs. Fingerling potatoes also brings the dish up a notch. A sprinkle of lemon at the end, topped with a dollop of sour cream makes this a superb autumn dinner.

Just fantastic!! I make this ALL the time, specially for dinner with friends or neighbors because you can make a big batch of it, it has tons of vegetables and it is easy to make. Everyone has always loved it. Thank you Ina!
