Ingredients
  • 1/2 onion, peeled, finely diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground garlic
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound barley
  • 6 cups chicken stock
Directions
  • Barley: Cook onion, garlic, bay leaves, and salt in butter until onions are soft, do not color. Add barley and chicken stock and cook until barley is tender.

  • Serve barley with Braised Beef Shank
