So, I saw Sunny make this and thought it looked sooo yummy, so I made it. I doubled the brine b/c it wasn't nearly enough to cover the chicken and I still had to turn it over to make sure it all got a chance to brine. I changed a few things, like no cumin, lemon zest or thyme in the rub and I used Brummel and Brown instead of butter and all I can say is DELICIOUS!!! This is SUCH a yummy chicken!! Oh, I didn't use a rack either, ok, so maybe I changed more than a few things. I made rice on the side so that we could add some of the sauce from the chicken on it and it was superb! GREAT recipe..gonna try some others of hers now!

This is my second time making this BBQ Rub-Roasted Chicken. The first time, the chicken did not have any taste to it, and the reason why was that the brine did not have enough salt to it, in which that was my fault, because i had to double the amount of water (16 cups the recipe called for, 8 cups of water was not going to cover my 7lb roaster, and when i did it the first time, i followed the Original amount of salt and sugar in the brine that the recipe called for. But the second time around, i added 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of sugar to the brine and the taste was "FANTASTIC". One note...I "always" tape a show from the Foodnetwork that i'm interested in cooking, and the one thing that i did omit from this recipe that is on the printed recipe is the "Ground Cumin", that was "Not" on her show. This is a "KEEPER".

The recipe was fairly easy to follow. The chicken turned out great... I wish the instructions were more sequential.. Number them even... lol.. Thanks for the great recipe

I made this the other night, and I must say the chicken was so moist and flavorful!
It was a huge hit at my dinner table.
Instead of a whole bird I used a bird that was already cut up and it turned out just fine.
A few days later I used the same rub on a pork loin with excellent results !
    FANTASTIC!!!!

I watched the show and made the recipe exactly as written. I wouldn't change a thing - flavorful and very moist. My husband LOVED it! Will make again for sure. The stock I got from the carcass is amazing too - great color and flavor. Froze it and am saving it for something special.

I had a large, extra-meaty, roaster chicken in the freezer just waiting to be cooked. I saw this recipe and had to try it. I was not disappointed. I did the recipe exactly as Sunny did on the show and it came out so tender and juicy. The rub is a really nice blend of sweet and spicy/hot. Thanks, Sunny!

The First group of words in the Dirctions should be in the ingredients list:

    BBQ Rub, recipe follows, divided
1 stick unsalted butter, room temperature

This is the best bbq chicken that we have tried. I never tried to brine meat before and am so glad that I did with this recipe. AWESOME. The bbq rub was so good. Our chicken was tender, moist, juicy, flavored throughtout and mouth watering good. THANKS SUNNY for providing great recipes that every day people can afford without off the wall ingredients.

This has to be the best oven roasted chicken ever. Flavorful and moist. Easy to make. Fantastic. A permanent addition in our hosehold. Sunny, every recipe I have attempted of yours has turned out to be as great as you said it would be. Thank you and thank Food Network for having your show.
