Ingredients

  • 8 green onions, finely chopped (using white part only)
  • 2 stalks lemongrass (using about 3 inches from the top), finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes, optional
  • 8 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops

Directions

Combine green onions, lemongrass, salt, pepper, and sugar into a large bowl. Mix together until it becomes a thick paste. Add fish sauce, brandy and chili flakes, and stir well.

Coat each pork chop with the seasoning. Refrigerate for at least a couple hours (up to 24 hours).

Grill at approximately 400 degrees F, about 7 to 8 minutes on each side.

    acquired taste

I LOVED this recipe. It was simple and so convenient. (Fish sauce is hard to find at your local grocery store. Check in... the Asian food section) Anyway, my husband wasn't a huge fan because it's a bit spicy, but I thought it was absolutely delicious. Don't be fooled by the foul smelling marinade, these chops grill up real nice! (And I used the leftover pork to make cuban sandwhiches.....mmmmm...check Paula Deen's recipe out)Read more

I was very excited to try this recipe because of all the rave reviews. All I got out of this recipe are wasted pork chops. ... My husband and I found the pork chops to be very disgusting. According to my husband, it smelled like an old pair of shoes.Read more
