  • 8 green onions, finely chopped (using white part only)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes, optional
  • 8 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops

Directions

Combine green onions, lemongrass, salt, pepper, and sugar into a large bowl. Mix together until it becomes a thick paste. Add fish sauce, brandy and chili flakes, and stir well.

I LOVED this recipe. It was simple and so convenient. (Fish sauce is hard to find at your local grocery store. Check in the Asian food section Anyway, my husband wasn't a huge fan because it's a bit spicy, but I thought it was absolutely delicious. Don't be fooled by the foul smelling marinade, these chops grill up real nice! (And I used the leftover pork to make cuban sandwhiches.....mmmmm...check Paula Deen's recipe out

I substituted soy sauce for the fish sauce simply because I didn't have any fish sauce...and these chops were awesome. Incredible aroma and flavor!
