I had pickled grapes at a restaurant & loved them. This recipe was nothing like them.....It was thick and stickey and had no taste other than grape. I was very dissatisfied.

I've made several different pickled grape recipes, and this one is great.. probably my favorite so far. I loved the coriander. I stuck with these ingredients, but used most of them in their whole/fresh forms (cinnamon stick for ground, 3 coin-sized slices ginger for the crystallized. I was leery of using 2 jalapenos, but I'm glad I did - never anticipated how perfect grapes and jalapenos are together. One thing that I think makes a big textural difference - let the brine cool completely before adding the grapes; it preserves their crisp texture. Will definitely use this one again!

This is really a unique treatment for grapes. I halved the recipe and it was truly remarkable. I think it would be great as a garnish for roasted meats and fish. My interest stemmed from seeing Chef Michel Nischan making pickled peaches on a PBS show. I'm still trying to find that recipe.
