Ingredients
- 6 pounds bacon
- 6 onions

- 1 (10-pound) can kidney beans
- 1 (10-pound) can great Northern beans
- 1 (10-pound) can pork and beans
Directions
Dice the bacon and the onions. Place the bacon and onion in a large pot on top of the grill on medium heat. Cook until bacon is rendered and onions are translucent. Add the black pepper, kosher salt and chili powder. In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, yellow mustard and molasses. Then add to the bacon mixture. Drain kidney beans and great Northern beans and rinse. Add the beans to the pot and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer to individual 1/3-inch deep pans. To finish beans place in smoker uncovered for 45 minutes at 250 degrees F. Serve immediately.

this recipe is awesome. However the 15-30 servings is way off. It makes 80 1/2 cup servings. and that is with 1 less pound of bacon. The flavors are great and it is an easy side dish for a large group. I cooked it on the stove top and added a couple teaspoons liquid smoke.

I simplified this recipe by doing almost everything in the crock pot instead of actually baking the beans and they turned out great. I also used a chipotle based sauce and the smoke flavour was a perfect match. Really a great recipe and perfect with some bbq ribs!!!
