This is not the correct recipe from the show; it has no oil, and on the show they started with 5 gallons of oil. Also omitted basil. This recipe needs to be edited and reposted. The recipe from the earlier reviewer stating 5 gallons of oil, 48 oz of lemon juice, etc is correct. Try those ingredients and scale down the proportions. Sorry. Only gets a "1" because it was totally wrong!!!!!!!!!

I cook fresh salmon all of the time and this is now my favorite marinade; do not sip on the fresh parsley!! Also, I grill only about 8 minutes, salmon cooks quite a bit once you take it off the heat.

The original show featured a huge Texas BBQ festival where the salmon steaks were produced by the dozens. The recipe on the show was

    5 gallons olive oil
    48 oz lemon juice
    2/3rds gallon soy sauce
    2/3rds gallon Worcestershire sauce
    overflowing handful of black pepper
    overflowing handful of dried basil
    short handful of oregano

do the math and reduce it to suit your needs. When I do, I cut down on the olive oil a lot because it seems grossly out of proportion.

My family really liked this salmon recipe! However, I saw the featured episode this past week, and there are a couple of errors in the recipe. There was plenty of olive oil used, and there is none listed in the ingredients. Also, the salmon was grilled top side down first, and then flipped.

I did not have any soy sauce in the pantry, so I added some dijon mustard instead.

Just Ok. The ingredients calls for 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice which I thought was too much b/c the overall flavor of it was lemon. I only tried it once so the only thing I recommend is to reduce the amount of lemon juice or to not marinade the salmon for too long.
