Becca Fico Sardines

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons currants
  • 2 tablespoons pignoli ( pine nuts)
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 orange, whole
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 12 to 16 fresh whole sardines, cleaned, scaled, rinsed, dried and butterflied
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Combine first 6 ingredients to make a stuffing. Stuff sardines, layer in oven proof dish and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
