Made this last night and it was EXCELLENT! My only problem? Why aren't there any potatoes in this recipe?! Beef stew without potatoes is down right un-American! I added them, and they were perfection! My only other suggestion, for others with young kids is that it is pretty spicy with those red pepper flakes! I would halve them (although I love spicy food myself, when cooking for a mixed group, this may be a little over the edge for them. The turmeric added a beautiful color and an unusual flavor! We loved this one and will be adding it into our list of family favorites!

Nice and easy, quicker than other recipes, and tasted great. Also used canned tomatoes like other folks. Forgot the cornstarch, but it was fine. Will be using this as my go-to stew recipe. I really like Swanson all-natural broths.

I added 2 cups chopped potato (my husband is a meat and potato man, increased the cornstarch to 3- 4 TBLS, the turmeric to 1 tsp and added 48 oz. instead of 24 oz. beef stock. It was delicious. My husband could not get enough!

Stew came out very good, just too much garlic for me. Next time I make it I will try 3 cloves of garlic instead. Other than that, it was a hit with the family

This recipe was incredible. I actually was pretty skeptical when I first read how easy and fast it was, but I am now a believer. My family had seconds. I read the reviews before making it, and I did leave out the turmeric because I didn't have any, and I did use a can of petite cut diced tomatoes instead. I also increased the amount of carrots (I love carrots and onions. All in all, it was a huge hit. I also made some potatoes in the oven and we had a small salad to start. No doubt about it, I will definitely make it again.

I have to say that I chose this recipe because it had the shortest cooking time and I started a little late in the day to cook traditional beef stew. That being said, this recipe was every bit as delicious as any of the stews I have made before and I will make this again for sure. I also used canned diced tomatoes and I omitted the turmeric, simply because I didn't have any. My family loved it!

I've made this twice, using canned tomatoes, instead of chopped. It's easy, delicious, and my kids loved it.

This is a very tasty beef stew! The tumeric and red pepper flakes add a nice bite and twist to the typical beef stew. Hearty, savory and satisfying. I highly recommend it. I also used canned tomatoes- I used one 15 ounce can of diced tomatoes and their juices, and it was delicious!

What a great recipe! If you are looking for a new beef stew, this one really rocks with its flavor coming from Tumeric, a possible anti inflammatory. I was surprised at how much flavor without having to add wine. My husband couldn't slow down his pace. I will make this one again. I didn't have tomatoes, so I used can tomatoes with some of its liquid and halved the broth. I am sure it is good as is.
