Seems a lot like Paula Deen's Lemon Blossom recipe. Did Bek copy?

I'm not a baker, so this idea may not work.... I was wondering if adding finely chopped Lemon Zest to the batter and/or Cool Whip (when substituted for the Meringue topping wouldn't solve the "not lemony enough" problem. Someone did mention using Lemon Extract, so maybe adding both Zest and Extract would work. Also, isn't there lemon-flavored sugar sprinkles that might be dusted on top? There used to be lemon-flavored confectioner's sugar - is it still available? Kathy

I made this dessert for an office party and it went over so well. I had never made meringue before so that took a little practice but I finally got it. The steps were easy to follow and the dessert was so great. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

I think the recipe looked great, but when I made it the pudding never really became thick. I added Dream Whip to it to thicken. That seemed to do the trick but they were still somewhat runny, maybe should have baked the cake more. They were also very sweet. Maybe it was the dream whip or the pudding I used but was really too sweet. Will try again and see if they come out better cooking longer and using different pudding mix........

These lemon meringue tea cakes turned out fantastic! Can't wait to make them for my next party. I followed the directions and didn't have any problems with the outcome.

During the show I think tructions were given for turning this recipe into lemon cookies dusted with confectioners sugar. Can you please provide that recipe? We love the flavor of lemon. Thank you.

I saw part of the show where bek was showing how to do these, unfortunately, i had to leave the room before i saw how she finished them. I am very anxious to make these, but, i have 1 question. Do you put the pudding and meringue on the "crust" before or after you take them out of the oven, if so, do you put them on a sheet cake pan or something to brown the meringue?? Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I already have all the ingredients, just kind of leary about making them without knowing just how to finish them off.

After seeing these made on Semi-Homemade Cooking, I had to try them. The idea of mixing the cake mix with the whipped cream was great, but the shells took longer to cook than the time suggested in the recipe. Beyond that, they were delicious! My family loved them and I would definitely make them again.
