I have had this salad in the restaurant and loved it however, when I made it at home it wasn't as good. There was so much garlic in the dressing that it burned my mouth so I will cut back next time. Also, I felt like it needed more acid so I added more lemon juice - I will add more vinegar next time. The recipe on the restaurant's website is slightly different so I may use that next time.

I make this using a ham steak that has been cooked on the grill and then cutting the ham steak in strips - it's WONDERFUL!

I frequently make a chunked raw antipasto-type salad/dish and pour this dressing over it. Major hit at potlucks. Pour over salami, pasta, and raw/steamed veggies for a delicious pasta salad. Marinate/baste chicken in it.

    It's a fabulous recipe!

I have been making this salad for years. I substitute turkey, or shrimp sometimes. People ask me to bring it to potlucks and family gatherings too.

I call this a "wet" salad because the dressing is very prominent in the dish.
It is wonderful and so easy, unless you are looking for a daintily dressed salad.
I also enoy it regularly at the Sarasota branch of Colombia.

I hail from Tampa, FL..and have been at the Columbia in Ybor City, and also at St. Augustine many, many times. This salad is truly one of the greatest dining pleasures you will ever have.

Be sure to follow the directions precisely, and prepare yourself for a treat!!!

This is a terrific salad, and very easy. The dressing is very quick and delightfully "garlicky"!

I had this salad a The Columbia Restaurant in St. Augustine and was blown away. I haven't made it yet, but my server said it is the easiest dressing in the world to make!
