This pie crust is amazing. My grandmother was a master pie maker from Iowa. whenever there was a gathering people always told Alice to bring her pies. Therefore I have always had the desire to make delicious pies too, but they always came out tough and tasteless. This recipe comes the closest to my grandmother's that I have found. Plus it is easy, failsafe and delicious. I only use this crust now in all my fruit pies or pot pies. I LOVE this RECIPE and so does my family and friends!!! The only difference I make is adding a table spoon of sugar when I make a fruit pie.

Great recipe, be sure to add more flour to the sugar spice mixture. Otherwise, it's too watery. This recipe-MASARAP!

Very delicious! The apple was not mushy and still crisp and the flavor was fantastic. It was also pretty easy to make.

Really easy and tastes great! First apple pie I have ever made. Adjustments I made were adding 2tb of sugar to the crust and 1/2tsp of nutmeg and instead of 3/4 sugar I did 1/2 sugar 1/4 brown sugar to the filling.

This is a great recipe, however there are a couple of amendments that I would make to it. First and foremost, fresh ground cinnamon is a must (as opposed to store bought cinnamon powder. The second must ingredient, which is totally missing from this recipe, is fresh grated nutmeg. Other than that, I prefer lemon zest or lemon juice over white vinegar, but that's just a personal preference.
Thanks for sharing!
