    I made this pie and it was excellent. The crust is flaky and the filling was delicious and not too sweet.

    I have made this twice. We have loved it both times. It is one of the easier apple pie recipes that I have found. The crust is nice and flaky due to the shortening used in the dough. If you are making your first apple pie....this is a good one to try!

    This pie came out very, very tasty. The crust was flaky and light and the filling was the perfect consistency. I used Granny Smith and Golden Delicious Apples, and they tasted just right. My mother had a sample of the pie and she couldn't stop saying how good it was! She's an excellent cook, so I was pretty flattered. Not bad for a first time!
