Very good complex flavors, worth the effort, we will be making this again.

I don't know why everyone is crazy about this sauce,, I've made it and it's just nasty,, the ginger is not a good sorce to cook with and the star anise is over powering,, i only used one and it's to much, my wife did not like the sauce at all. I will not try this again.

These ribs are some of the best I have ever smoked on my Big Green Egg. I really like the rub and the Pineapple-Ginger BBQ Sauce is to die for. My only problem was the cooking time of 2 hours is not long enough. My ribs were still pink and not as tender as most of my ribs that I normally smoke for 5 to 6 hours. Next time I will try 4 hours.

These are the best ribs we have ever eaten. They were perfectly tender and the layers of flavor were amazing. I could not find the Thai chili flake but there was plenty of heat from the habanero chili. I also made a little extra rub for a third rack of ribs so the kids could enjoy some ribs that would not make their mouth explode with heat. The said the ribs were divine. I will be doing this again and again.

I am 14 and i have made this recipe 3 times for my family and it has never dissappointed. The BBQ sauce was outstanding but i think i will try using huckleberry sauce for the base instead of hoisin sauce. Overall, an exceptional recipe!

By far! The best BBQ Sauce I have had. Many layers of flavor. Its a bit of a mission to make this dish but, if you do it right it is AMAZING!! I made the sauce a day before and simmered it before I put it on the ribs. Blend it very thoroughly. The fibers of the pineapple and ginger are a bit "meaty" for a sauce, if not blended well. Yummy!!

Really nice BBQ sauce, I used on pulled pork instead of ribs. Nice change up from traditional southern or KC sauces. I thought the hoisin sauce would dominate the other flavors but it is very well balanced.

The only other comment I have was in the prep instructions. I slightly caramelized the pineapple chunks then added the pineapple juice. The instructions are to caramelize the juice.

Wow, the Barbecue sauce was amazing. I did not use ribs and only have a basic Barbecue, not having all day to prepare dinner I split a Pork Tenderloin, scored it and covered it with the rub. I then cooked the pork on one side on a low heat then turned and basted with the Pineapple-Ginger Barbecue Sauce repeatedly for roughly 40 mins. It was delicious!

This is one of the best rib recipes. We are making this recipe on Christmas Day for the Family. Of Coarse, I know this will be the Main Entree, pushing the Turkey and Ham to the side..HaHaHa! Anyway, we will be preparing the day before and taking it to our Dad's home for the Family Feast. I would suggest anyone wanting to add a little something different to the Holiday Feast, I suggest this, along with some Sweet/Sour Veggie Spring Rolls (my personal recipe:

Wow! Incredible with layers of flavor. We did not have as much time as our daughter surprised us with a short visit, so no blender for the sauce. And guess what? We like the chunky style better. Also, we did not have 2+ hours on the grill, so we cut the ribs individually & sauteed them in cocoanut oil to give a bit of crust. Took the ribs out, poured the fat off and used a 50-50 blend of the water w/soy sauce to deglaze the pan. After it came to a boil, we reintroduced the ribs, turned it down to a low simmer & popped the lid on. This added flavor and tenderized the ribs. We had a small pot of Thai lentils going, and chopped the veggies very small and threw them in w/lentils.

A taste revealed it to have become a bit bland, so we added Chinese 5-Spice to tie in with the Bar-B-Que sauce ingredients, and it all worked together wonderfully!

The ribs were marvelous. Everyone wanted to take a jar of this incredible Bar-B-Que sauce home with them.

    Thanks for a winner!
