My eight year old son and I made this for his cub scout chili cook off and out of twenty entries, this chili won first place!
I didn't have time to look for the special chili powders so I just used regular chili powder.
One dad asked for the recipe after he had four servings.

What a wonderful chili! I did not add as much liquid and being I like mine on the thick side, added some tomato paste and cornstarch. We actually smoked the meat and oh, what a flavor. The avocado relish really topped it off..Way to go Bobby..

The flavor is great on this recipe. My grocery store doesn't carry those specific chili powders so I used plain old chili powder and a kind marked "mexican hot chili powder" and ended up with pretty good dimension of flavor. I'm sure it's even better if you can find exactly what's called for. I do agree with the poster who said the consistency was on the thinner side for chili. We served this over a little rice and it was perfect for us. If you're looking for a thick chili, you could try cutting back on the chicken broth and upping the amount of beans and chopped tomatoes to bring it up to the total cups of ingredients required in the recipe.

Very good chili. Does require the cool of the condiments against the spice of the chili powders. The chili seasonings are strong and for the sensiblilities of more delicate taste buds I reccomend starting with half the chili seasonings and adding as you go.

This is a simple yet super flavorful take on chili. I love the intense flavor from the chili powder and chipotle. I wasn't able to find the pasilla chili powder or the crema so I substituted regular chili powder and sour cream. The avocado relish takes this chili to another lever.

This is my first recipe from b.flay that I've made and it turned out fantastic! The crema and the avocado relish really makes the difference so don't get lazy and not make it!

This chili has a great smokey flavor from the chipotle peppers and both the toppings really smooth things out. The avocado relish is fabulous! I did make a few changes though. I thought the consistancy was a little more watery than I usually like in a chili so I added a small can of tomato paste to thicken it up a bit. Also, I did not have any Mexican Creama so I substituted sour cream and it turned out great!

Served this to 8 people, there was plenty. It smelled so wonderful as people were arriving. Just the right amount of "heat". Easy to follow recipe.
