the best biscuit recipe by far. soft, fluffy, and buttery inside with a nice crust on top. i was apprehensive about the pepper so i did half with and half without. i love it with pepper! delicious with honey or marmalade.

Excellent recipe easy to follow except for those who are anul about GRATE and GREAT, a 5 year old child could and has made this recipe, and knows where to put the extra 1/4 cup sugar. Come on try the recipe and quit being such an IDIOT or I DEE OT.

Made the biscuits and loved them. They were tender and flaky on the inside and had a beautiful crust on the outside. I will make the marmalade next. Easy peezy. Thanks Bobby and crew.

This was my first attempt at homemade biscuits. The biscuits turned out delicious. My husband loved them. Left off the black pepper.

I'm not often compelled to review recipes on foodnetwork.com, but I just had to review this one. I only had the biscuits, though, so I can't review the jam recipe. I will say that if these biscuits aren't turning out for you, then you must be doing something wrong. I'm an inexperienced biscuit maker and when I made these for the first time I made them too flat, so they turned out pretty average. But, when my mom came over for Easter, she made these with the recipe I gave her from the show and they were out of this world AMAZING! They are, by far, the best biscuits I have ever tasted... I could live off these things!

I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT THE PEOPLE WHO WRITE THESE RECIPES SHOULD PROOFREAD THEM TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CORRECT. I COULDN'T FIND ANY USE FOR THE EXTRA ONE-FOURTH OF SUGAR IN THE JAM RECIPE EITHER. ALSO THE PEOPLE WHO REVIEW RECIPES SHOULD PROOFREAD AND MAKE SURE THEIR SPELLING IS CORRECT. A RECIPE IS 'GREAT NOT GRATE.ETC'.

Sorry Bobby, I didn't really like these biscuits, I went back and looked at the recipe and it called for only a teaspoon of salt. They didn't seem to rise as much as I thought too.

The website said to "pulse" the buttermilk into the flour/butter mixture but he does not say use a food processor but rather, "in a large bowl." The first time I used this recipe was the one fron "Boy Meets Grill" when he baked them for his wife and the instructions, in, my opinion, were not accurate and the biscuits wer dry did not brown, etc., but I see that has changed with this recipe.

Made it all. Mixed the dough by hand. Had to add a touch more buttermilk to bring it together.

Used about 4 cups of frozen rasberries and blueberries. Added water and cooked it down slowly, then added 3 cups of suger suger, 1/4 cup honey, and Smuckers Orange Marmelade.

    Decadent!

i know this is going to be a grate recipe. i have not made it yet but i will go to the kitchen rite now and do so.
the reason i am doing this review is the person who said the Jelly recipe was not complete has not made jelly be for or they would have known that the 1/4 cup sugar gets mixed in with the pectin.
    country girl.
