re-google this recipe Blueberry Blue corn pancakes with orange honey butter and cinnamon maple syrup and go to the recipe with 10 5 star ratings for how the recipe is suppose to be... someone did not put this correctly because these were delicious... do not do the review by the book... just do it how he did on the show

I followed the recipe of the reviewer who stated the better pancake mix is in Bobby Flay's book...omitting and adding different ingredients didn't make this pancake batter worth a second try.

The pancakes were flat and dense. I like fluffy pancakes...these pancakes were thin and almost hard to chew. I took the rest of the batter and made waffles just to see what would happen. The waffles expanded and were fluffier bit still dense.

The next day I reheated the leftovers for breakfast and decided to just throw them away.

Don't waste your time making these. Yuck!

This recipe is listed in Bobby's Mesa Grill cookbook with additional ingredients that are NOT listed here.

    Try this:
    Add 2 teaspoons baking powder
    Add 2 teaspoons kosher salt
    Add 1/4 cup sugar

That makes this recipe PHENOMENAL!!!! I omitted the butter and maple syrup and just drizzled some Orange Blossom honey over the warm pancakes. MmMmm

My daughter went to a lot of trouble to make this recipe for her Mother on Mother's Day. It was an unfortunate choice?it is missing ingredients and the amount of accompaniments, while tasty, were way too large.

1 No baking powder. With no baking powder, pancakes can?t rise. This is a disaster with fruit in the pancake?the dough can?t touch the griddle after they're flipped. Daughter almost in tears at Mom?s big breakfast.
2 16:1 Reduction? You MUST be kidding. Reduce three cups orange juice to three tablespoons? That takes forever?and this is to make enough butter for at least four times the number of pancakes you get (after you add the baking powder in.
3 4 servings of pancakes: How much butter would you serve with 4 pancake servings? Does you family put ? stick of butter on their 4-5 pancakes? Does everyone then pour on ? cup of pure maple syrup? No kidding?4-5 pancakes with ? stick of butter and a ? cup of syrup?

    This recipe was a disappointment.

That said, the pancakes and butter were quite tasty?

Bobby Flay's recipe's are normally vey good, but this recipe is not good. The pancakes were flat and did not have any flavor.

When I made these, they came out really thin and tough. Then I noticed there was no baking powder or baking soda in the recipe... could this be why they were flat?? I don't know, but I don't plan on having them again.

I agree with the first review. The pancakes were very thin and I tried to thicken it with more flour but it didn't work too well. Sometimes original recipes are best
