I used this recipe for the meatballs only. They were pretty good, but not exceptional.

I made this sauce thinking that it would be difficult, but it wasn't! And, the meatballs were amazing! Not overly spiced and the sauteed garlic was a nice touch. I think I added more red pepper flakes than called for, so my sauce was a little spicy, but still great overall. I also added a couple teaspoons of red wine and substituted one of the cans of tomatoes for fresh tomatoes.

I tried this recipe and my husband loved it. I made them for a potluck at work and got rave reviews. I changed companies, and I happen to work with someone from my old company and for the upcoming potluck, I have been forced to make them for others to try! Delicious. I double the beef and take out the veal.

I did not prepare the sauce, but did make the meat balls with ground chuck and ground pork. Added sauteed onions and followed the remainder of the recipe. My husband said they were outstanding and he was right. Served them with a vodka pink sauce and angel hair pasta. Will be making this again for sure!

Everything about this recipe is great. I use the sauce recipe for anything calling for a spaghetti sauce, it tastes so fresh. I don't use veal in the meatballs; I use 3/4lb. ground beef and 3/4lb. ground pork. Using veal doesn't seem practical. Oh and I use lots more garlic.
