This rating is only for the fluff as that was all I needed for what I was making. If you're looking for an easy and great fluff recipe, look no further. This tastes better than that stuff you buy in a jar!! However, I will be trying Bobby's sundae, also. It sounds delicious!!!! Thanks, Bobby!!

    I will soon!

I make ice cream on a regular basis, and I have a feeling that 7 yolks with three cups of milk/cream is too much - for me it would be too eggy.

The commenter who mentioned that the texture was grainy: Your custard was probably over heated and the eggs cooked too much. That will produce a grainy texture for sure.

Can't wait to make this (with four yolks!!!

I saw the Throwdown show just the other day and knew I had to make this! I don't have an ice cream maker so that was store bought (I'm sure Bobby's was great. Everything came out really great, I gave it a 4 instead of 5 because of the butterscotch and fudge sauce. The were really good, but I think you could have easily switched it with store bought and still been happy. The Fluff was not only great, but what fun to say you've made Fluff right? The Cherry Compote though was out of this world and so simple to made, I highly recommend it!

I used quality purchased ice cream and quadrupled the toppings recipe for my large family. Also, I made the toppings the day before. Definitely use the macadamia nuts. One of you didn't use the crowning touch--the cherry compote. The kids and adults all loved it!

Ice Cream, standard recipe except for brown sugar, added a nice touch - very creamy and delicious! Toppings were delicious also. I made this for an adult birthday dinner party and every single guest (12 asked for the recipe!!!

I did this recipe except for the cherry part (I'm not a big chocolate/fruit mixer and I must say the toppings were top notch. How fun to make my own Marshmallow Fluff! The butterscotch and hot fudge were delicious as well. If just based on toppings I would have given 5 stars, but the Ice Cream recipe fell short. For a custard I expect a dense, extremely creamy and smooth concoction. This was on in the flavor part, but the texture was a bit grainy. So, all in all, I will definitely make the toppings again, but will be trying other frozen custard recipes.
I will also say, dont let the expert rating daunt you, its easy to make the toppings ahead of time and reheat.
    Thanks!
